Combine Travel with World Music Day!

Combine Travel with World Music Day!

To celebrate World Music Day, check out some fabulous homes you can stay in, which once housed Grammy-winning pop, rock and country stars!

World Music Day, originating in France in 1982, as a celebration of the country’s love of music, has become an international event over the years. Each year on 21st June, in more than 120 countries and 700 cities, musicians and artists from all over the world are encouraged to perform free concerts in the streets.

In honor of this fast-approaching special day, Holidu, a leading global search engine for holiday lettings, compiled a list of holiday homes for all music-loving travelers: This summer, people can both enjoy fun summer holidays while feeling close to their favorite musicians, by staying in homes like the one that housed Lady Gaga during a former Coachella Festival or the villa that helped Rihanna relax on a past trip to Thailand.

Travelers can feel like a star in the luxury Waterfalling Estate. The house offers ocean and waterfall views from every room and a huge infinity pool for optimal relaxation. Situated on Hawaii’s Big Island, this estate boasts its own private 9-hole golf course, as well as tennis and basketball courts. In the past, mega-stars like Justin Bieber have stayed here and spent their downtime relaxing by the beach. This famous Canadian singer discovered by a talent scout on YouTube in 2008, and has since won more than 200 awards.

Katy Perry – Utah, USA

This incredible Utah location is perfect for proper vacation relaxation – and if it’s good enough for pop stars, it’s good enough for everyone else. Nestled between the Grand Canyon and Zion National Park – prime real estate, indeed – this villa offers a wonderful panorama from its large patio. It’s the perfect home for every season, what with its big indoor Jacuzzis, spacious outdoor areas and giant pool. This villa has also been host to Katy Perry, one of the best-selling music artists of all time. She spent a much-needed holiday here; perhaps she threw an epic party like the ones featured in her popular hits “TGIF” or “I Kissed a Girl.” Either way, this summer, this home is the best place for at least a BBQ.

Rihanna – Phuket, Thailand

Villa Saengootsa at the Samsara Estate is a true heaven. With its geometric lines and the minimalist decor, this vacation destination also seduced Barbadian singer, songwriter, actress, and businesswoman Rihanna. This luxurious house has amazingly spacious rooms and comes with a dedicated staff, including chef and housekeeper. The place can easily host 12 people and is perfect for hosting a stylish party – consider inviting guests to what will surely be a legendary gathering by the beautiful outdoor pool. The perfect playlist for this, without question, would be one with lots of Rihanna tracks – think “Wild Thoughts” and “Diamonds.” Fun fact: Rihanna is the youngest solo artist to have earned 14 #1 Singles on Billboard’s Hot 100, with a total of 31 Top Ten singles.

Years, spent his holidays here – and who can blame him? As one of the most successful British musicians of all time, George Michael was known to have a special love for partying. And where better to party than Ibiza? Indulge in the island’s unbeatable club scene and return home to rest and recuperate in this stunning property. Iconic, world-renowned clubs like Pacha, Ushuaia and Amnesia offer great international DJs almost every week.

The cozy atmosphere and its big front window front overlooking lush green tropical trees, this place offers a perfect getaway from everyday life. The resort is a perfect destination to help escape from the grueling “rock star” life, by allowing you to indulge in a treatment at the day spa, or by simply sipping a cocktail under the Tiki huts on the shore. In fact, this locale has already served as a relaxation station for “Queen of Rock n’ Roll” Tina Turner. According to the Guinness World Record, she is the solo performer to have sold the most concert tickets of all-time. For travelers who are looking for some good music and legendary parties, Miami offers a great variety of clubs like Space, Story and Mansion. For electronic music fans, there’s also the annual Ultra festival, one of the biggest music festivals in the world. It lasts an entire week and typically takes place in the spring.

Elvis Presley – Los Angeles, USA

The best place to go for glamorous, star-studded vacation is definitely Los Angeles. Book a stay in the Hills and temporarily live in Elvis Presley’s former home. This rental is located on a small cliff and offers fantastic LA views from the glass walls that encase every room. The luxury is upped another notch due to the large lounge area, and private pool and spa. Elvis, known as the “King of Rock n’ Roll,” used to live here with his family in the late 1960s. He became famous for his famous songs like “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” “Suspicious Minds” and “Hound Dog”. With some parts of the property still original from his time, visitors can indulge in the atmosphere of fame and rock. And if this is not enough, take a stroll around the neighborhood. In the past, celebrities like Frank Sinatra and Jennifer Aniston lived here. Maybe it is possible to spot somebody famous on the way to the shops. Holidu partner:

Taylor Swift – Nashville, USA

Die-hard Taylor Swift fans will probably recognize this holiday home’s chimney. As a matter of fact, the 28 year-old pop star filmed her single “White Horse” within the walls of this comfortable Tennessee-based letting. Tay Tay, winner of 10 Grammys and several other notable prizes, spent some time here in Nashville – and now tourists can, as well. She has several country songs in her repertoire, such as “Bad Blood” and “Delicate,” and Nashville is the place to be for country music fans. After all, it’s home to the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Grand Ole Opry House, home of the famous “Grand Ole Opry” stage and radio show.
