Robert Hayes was raising funds for St John’s Ambulance when he encountered a man showing signs of a heart attack.
The door-to-door fundraiser, who is recruited by Wesser and trained in first aid, acted immediately after the man answered the door, feeling unwell.
Robert told the Eastern Daily Press: “The man had his hand on his chest and said he didn’t feel well, that his jaw and his left shoulder hurt, which sounded like a heart attack to me.”
Robert dialled 999, and waited for the emergency services to arrive. It is believed that the man survived the heart attack.
