Gumber Bothy Barn Information Page!

Gumber Bothy – a restored 19th century flint barn situated on a working sheep farm in Sussex’s South Downs National Park. Proud to be car free, visitors are encourage to make their way by foot, horse or bike for a night of camping or barn accommodation. Whichever you choose, enjoy full access to the site’s facilities including hot showers, kitchen, bike racks and bbq. Back dropped by historic natural landmarks and an array of wildlife, a stay at Bothy is perfectly complimented by the charm of nearby Slindon – a picturesque, community-centred village which is well worth a visit.

  • Toilets, showers, sleeping dorms, kitchen, BBQ, bike racks, pay phone, camping field and drying room available
  • Visitors to the campsite have access to the same facilities apart from the sleeping dorms
  • The Bothy and campsite are a 2 mile walk from the nearest car park at Bignor Hill or Northwood (grid ref SU 959098) and there is no vehicle access to the site
  • Please also note that although the kitchen and Bothy are very well equipped there are no power outlets/plug points on site and no fridge.
