Anzac 2018: Beat the Crowds & Book Early!

Anzac 2018: Beat the Crowds & Book Early!

Go Sail Turkey are one independent backpackers tour company who really know how to ensure their customers have amazing holidays. Anzac 2018 will be an extra amazing time to visit Turkey and so why not push the boat out and jump aboard their spectacular 6 or 16 day tour?

April 2018 is a particularly special time to visit Turkey for Australians & New Zealanders – the 25th April is a national day of remembrance for their countrymen who served and died following the Gallipoli Campaign in 1915. Australian and New Zealand soldiers had set out to capture the Gallipoli Peninsula with a view to open the way to the Black Sea for the Allied navies. Many lives were lost on both sides and it created a bond between the Turkish nation. Go Sail Turkey told us that Ataturk (commander of Turkish forces at Gallipoli and later the President) declared of the ANZAC soldiers: “After losing their lives on this land, they have become our sons as well.”

Then on day 6, instead of returning to Istanbul, you visit the small town of Selcuk, and Ephesus – one of the best-preserved marble sites of the ancient world.
